Krikkit discovered this service today called KoolWIRE, which let you convert mp3’s to wav, wav to mp3’s, Word (doc, docx), Powerpoint (ppt, pptx), Excel (xls, xlsx), Visio (vsd), MS Project (mpp), Jpeg, GIF, TIF, RTF, txt to PDF, and PDF to DOC using EMAIL!
Yes, that’s right. Just add your files as attachments and send them to the appropriate address provided by KoolWIRE.
An excellent service, and that’s not all..
You can send multiple attachment with one email, and what if your files are too big to send by email? (limitations from the email provider maybe?) Then you can upload the files directly to KoolWire, and have them shipped back to you in an email!
More info on what address to send to for different conversions can be found here

All over the web you may see ads that have identified your location and either display an ad in your language or about the country or town you are in. The best examples are probably when foreign newspapers use Google Ads and display ads for flights and whatnot from your position to that country. I do believe that they have an especially good effect, not that I have seen any data on that. But, it’s a theory.
On the other side, here is a treat for those of you who understand Norwegian. The images below are from an animated ad about working permits in the US. However, it doesn’t seem that they have used any consultants to get the Norwegian text right.

Today I was looking at SeHer.no for numerous reasons I’m not going to elaborate here except that they were of a work-related task (I never read SeHer.no because of their “high-quality content”). Others at the office joined in and then Jens found this:
<style type=“text/css”>
#andre_nyheter {
height: 33px;
width: 730px;
…
…
…
<div style=“clear:both”></div>
</div>
Note the comments in the source.
Hilarious! I definitely relate to a situation where these kinds of comments, variables and whatnot like this may occur and be produced. Seems like most development departments works more or less the same way. The project manager always nags for changes and can never make up his mind. I can relate to both situations since I used to be a developer but not more or less works as a project manager.
Just to make it clear it may be translated to this in English:
“HEI FADDERI FADDERULLANDEI” is the start in a child song about pirates (no, not PirateBay pirates, REAL pirates!)
“FORNØYD nå JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON ?????” is ”Are you happy now [insert name here]
