Christmas + photos + Flickr = handy stuff

Tag: Generalchristoph @ 1:33 pm

The essence of this post may not be of any news to most of the readers, however this Christmas i have been playing a lot with the camera on my n95 and Flickr. I have to say that the functionality is very impressive, especially with the easy editing functionality provided by Picknick.com. As said, this is most likely not of any news value, I’m simply expressing that I am heavily impressed. I’m also actually considering upgrading my Flickr account to pro. All I need now is a place where I can upload my videos to YouTube directly from my mobile. I’m sure it works some way; I just have to figure out how.

To see some of the images I have taken, see the full post.

bMenu beta gone public

bmenu on tinde

Today I received a mail from bMenu, which Håvard gave me a discreet tip about some months ago, telling me that they had launched in Beta. I had absolutely no clue whatsoever what this concept was about before I installed their toolbar.
What bMenu does is that they have indexed an amount of the biggest websites in Norway and the toolbar changes from site to site. To put it quite simple, they show a more standard menu for different sites in a toolbar. I’ve tried it for some minutes and it seems okay. Many websites do have trouble with their navigation and this does also give me as a user a broader picture of available services on different sites. The backbone of their application is powered by Fast. However I have not dug any in the code of the toolbar yet.
I have also tried to do some research of the company behind bMenu. The company was founded in the Norwegian register of companies on the 30th of November 2005. CEO back when it started was Bjørn Holte and Chairman of the board was Tor Andersen (CEO A-Pressen 88-89 and former Chairman in Chess). Eva Andersen was set up as a board member in the beginning. They also seem to be well funded by Alliance Venture. In May this year they included Jan-Erik Hæreid and Erling Maartman-Moe (several startups over the years (New Media Science)) to the board. They have also set up offices in New York and San Francisco.
I am pretty excited about this and I wonder what they have up their sleeves. I for sure am going to pay attention!

Update: I found a videopresentation of bMenu here
